Team roles and access in Homeezy

Learn how roles label your crew and how Homeezy's workspace security controls what team members can access.

What can my team members access?

Team members work inside your workspace, so they see the projects, contacts, and documents that belong to your business — not data from any other contractor on Homeezy. The role you assign (such as Foreman or Project Manager) is a free-text label that helps you organize your crew; it does not unlock or restrict app features on its own. Access boundaries between businesses are enforced by Homeezy's row-level security at the database level.

How roles work

When you add or edit a member you can type any role that makes sense for your team. Roles are descriptive labels — there's no fixed list to pick from. Common examples:

  • Owner / Manager — runs the business and oversees jobs.
  • Project manager — coordinates schedules, tasks, and clients.
  • Foreman / Lead — runs the crew on site.
  • Estimator — prepares quotes and pricing.
  • Office / Admin — handles invoices, documents, and follow-ups.

The role label appears in your team list so anyone reviewing the crew can see who does what at a glance.

How access is kept secure

Homeezy isolates every contractor's workspace. A member you invite is tied to your business and can only ever load your records — quotes, contracts, invoices, projects, contacts, and files. This separation is enforced server-side, so it holds even if someone tries to request data directly.

  1. 1
    Invite by email

From Settings → Team, add the member and send the invite. They join under your workspace only.

  2. 2
    Assign a descriptive role

Give the member a role label so your team list reflects their job. You can change it any time by editing the member.

  3. 3
    Review the list regularly

Check who has access from time to time and remove anyone who has left, so your workspace stays current.

No. In the current version the role is a label for your own organization. All members work within the same workspace; the role doesn't grant or block specific buttons.

Never. Each workspace is fully isolated by row-level security, so members only ever see the data belonging to your business.

Yes. Open the member from your Team list and update the role field, then save.

Remove them from your Team list to revoke access. See Remove a team member.
